The recent rise in popularity of dragons is funny because half of it is because of Game of Thrones and half of it is because of How To Train Your Dragon so all these dragon posts are going around and you never know which fandom you’re gonna brush shoulders with it’s like walking into a dragon’s lair and not knowing if you’re gonna get this
imagine a cute dragon who kidnaps princesses but doesn’t hurt them or eat them. instead she asks for beauty advice and makeup tips because humans are so pretty and she wants to be as pretty as a human. imagine this dragon becoming best friends with a princess and one day this princess decides to give her a makeover and uses all the makeup in her kingdom and makes little flower crowns for the dragon’s horns and ties bows around her legs.
Imagine a strange fantasy world where a large dragon has been stealing people away from a small town in the dead of night for at least a week or so until finally the remaining townspeople have had enough and they hire a renowned hero to slay the vile beast.
The hero prepares for the upcoming battle, seeking out the finest enchanted armour to protect them from the dragons wicked flames as well as a mythical weapon capable of piercing the hide of the most powerful creature known to the world.
For days the hero treks towards the dragons home; an ancient stronghold that sits atop a large mountain. The hero fights their way through a thick forest filled with huge spiders and nasty little goblins until finally they find themself standing before the huge wooden doors of the stronghold and they push with all their might to get inside.
And the moment the door cracks opened, the hero hears the feint sound of music and laughter emanating from further within the ancient abode. They step quietly through the dark corridors of this strange place, trying desperately not to make the slightest noise lest they find themself face to face with the heartless monster that plagues the nearby town.
Finally the hero comes upon the source of the strange sounds… as a huge dragon lays on its back, floating in an enormous pool of water and peacefully plucking at a tiny harp as many of the missing towsnpeople surround the creature, all smiling and laughing as they wash the dragons stomach, trim the dragons nails and tie little silk bows into the dragons whiskers. At the other side of the room sits a table filled with fine food and drink, with a few extremely inebriated villagers sitting on the floor nearby.
After a few hours a very confused hero emerges from the ancient stronghold and makes their way back to town with a group of happy villagers in tow, each one carrying a beautiful piece of golden treasure in their hands as payment from a once very messy, and now extremely grateful dragon.
